UFO passings and world news

You may have seen on some blogs the very sad news of the passing of Stuart Miller. I knew him as I wrote for both his UFO Review and his Alien Worlds magazines. He was always a helpful man, he even took an hour on the phone one day to help me set up my TV digi box when I couldn't get it working. I never met him in person, but we often spoke on the phone, and he truly was one of the good guys of Ufology. It's so ironic that he should have died in a motorbike accident when he not only spent so much time teaching people how to ride safely, he also wrote books about it. My condolences to his family.

Another sad passing that we learned of this week was that of Bud Hopkins. I'm sure that both of them are sitting "up there" on a cloud somewhere having a long discussion about UFOs. And I'm also sure that they both now have all the answers to their questions about it.

Valé to both of them.

On a totally different subject, as you can imagine, the news from Libya has knocked most other news out of the headlines, including the rioters in the UK. And, as you can imagine if you know me, I'm glued to the TV news again. It seems that every time David Cameron, our Prime Minister, goes on holiday something occurs to bring him back to Downing Street.

Last time it was the riots, this time it's been Libya. Although he only came back for the day to deal with that one. At least this time he's on holiday in the UK, (in Cornwall near to my home town), so not far to travel to reach London the next time there's a big breaking news story that needs his attention. And, these things do tend to go in threes, so I'm just waiting for the next one.

It's also knocked August off being the "silly season," and that's probably no bad thing considering the really silly stories that get published at this time of year!

So roll on next week and the start of September.

Very shocking to hear of the passing of Stuart Miller. He and I and Kithra used to exchange articles and bits of news for many years. Every few months for several years he published his UFO Review which he distributed for free. Each issue reflected his unique combination of wit and humor. I still have a collection of the PDFs to this day.

Thanks Kithra for writing about his passing on your blog or I may never have known. May he rest in the higher dimensions where he no doubt originally came from.
