A recently posted video on YouTube claims that the Comet Elenin is, in fact, a dwarf star that is headed in Earth’s direction and will cause much destruction here.
The idea is going viral, especially on the more “wacky/disaster” forums, and particularly those where people will just believe whatever is said without doing their own research. The main thrust of the video is that when Comet Elenin lines up with us, the Sun, or other gravitational bodies, the time coincides with earthquakes happening on those exact dates. And, as Comet Elenin is deemed to be the cause, more critical dates are predicted. What they ignore, of course, is the fact that Comet Elenin will, at those times, be a great deal further away than our Moon, as much as ½ an AU (Astronomical Unit) away, but it will still bring destruction. (One AU is the average distance between the Earth and the Sun). They further claim that Comet Elenin is not a comet at all, but a dwarf star.
Well, I’m not one to blindly believe whatever I’m told, especially when it concerns a topic from one of the more “way out” forums and message boards. So, of course, I did a little digging of my own.
Firstly, I went to Wikipedia and looked up the information about Comet Elenin. It’s a long-period comet, probably with a diameter of 3 to 4 kilometres, (approximately 1 ¾ to 2 ½ miles), that was first discovered in December 2010.
I then found some very good information, and graphics, about it at the Aerith.net site. This is where the Japanese astronomer Seiichi Yoshida, a comet researcher, compiles his lists of data.
Next I thought I’d Google it, and came up with around 138 hits just for NASA alone. That meant using an extremely long Google URL, so here’s a tiny one for you.
I also found a great article about it, including some graphics and the video, on the Earthpulsedaily site. You can read that one here. It begins by giving all the scientific information that’s known about Comet Elenin, including some good links. Then, having cautioned the reader that they’ve come to the end of factual information, it goes on to briefly examine the Niburu/Planet X story, plus the Blue Star and Red Star Kachinas in Hopi Prophecy, and the Sumerian story. At the end of which it gives a few more links.
Having done my research, do I think that Comet Elenin is going to bring death and destruction to the Earth? No, of course not. But, like many people, I’ll keep my tin foil hat handy, LOL.
On a very different topic, if you read a lot of the Blogs that can be found on the Google Blogger sites then you may be aware that there seems to be formatting problem with many of them. Hopefully, Google is working on the problem and will have things back to normal without too much more delay. So far mine seems to have remained unaffected and is still working with no such problems. Long may that continue!
