In 2006 I uploaded an article about the Cormons in which I referenced the ghost supposedly created by the Toronto Society for Psychical Research, whom they called Philip and created a whole back story for. I also referenced what are known in paranormal circles as Shadow People. This article can be read here.
Another paranormal topic that I’ve found interesting over the years is the one pertaining to what are known as the Black-Eyed Kids. You can find various links to posts about them on the From The Shadows Blogspot here.
However, today I was reading the posts from the CFZ, which I read every day, and I came across a hoax invention that has been spreading across the Internet. This creation goes by the name of The Slender Man and the post about it, from Oll Lewis, which you can read here, is the very first time that I’ve come across it. Oll mentions Philip (the ghost) and then explains how The Slender Man hoax arose.
I never ceased to be amazed how these hoaxes, just like fake UFO photos and videos, spread around the net. I’m not saying that I never get taken in by them as I’m sure that, on occasion, I do. But I also never understand why people don’t do their own research before they unquestioningly believe what they read. I guess they simply find it too time consuming to think for themselves!
As this will probably be my last post this year, I’ll wish you all a Very Happy Holiday Season.
