Richard Freeman speaks about the CFZ trip to Guyana
If you’ve been following the CFZ (Centre for Fortean Zoology) expedition to Guyana, in South America, last month to look for some mystery animals then you’ll be pleased to know the team returned safely. Some of the creatures they were seeking were the Didi, the Giant Anaconda, and the Water Tiger – and they came back with some possible evidence for these. You can watch a video, and pre-order the book they are writing on their site.
Also, over on Nick Redfern’s “There’s Something in the Woods” blogspot you can read a great interview with Richard Freeman about the trip. He is the CFZ’s Zoological Director, and was one of the people on the expedition. What he has to say makes fascinating reading. Enjoy.

Fortean Voting
Over at The Charles Forte Institute they’re running a poll to find the Seven Fortean Wonders of the World. It’s going to be done in three rounds, with the first round closing this Friday - so you’re not too late to vote. There are 79 contenders that, depending on the amount of votes for each one, will eventually be whittled down to the final 7.
If you want to vote you will first have to register, but if you do then you’ll also be able to take advantage of the forums, where you can also talk about the different nominees if you want to. The original 79 candidates range from Area 51, through the Piri Reis Map, to the Voynich Manuscript; and many items in between – including the Starchild Skull.
The Seven Fortean Wonders of the World will be announced on 1st January 2008.
